What’s in a name…

Decisions, decisions. The idea of recording my passions, dreams, goals …. and progress to that end …. in a blog is growing on me. That part is easy. What to call said blog? That’s a little tougher.

My record of naming things isn’t the best. A few years ago I used some inheritance to purchase a long arm quilting machine. Word got out amongst some quilting friends and soon I was quilting for others. So it was time for a business name. My workroom has a wonderful view out to our backyard. The first thing to catch your eye was a mature, vigorous red trumpet vine. In the afternoon breezes would blow across the back of our property. The name Dancing Vine Quiltworks seemed like a natural. Business was good but, about the time I went through a difficult personal time, the mature, established vine died. Yeah, I’m one of those people who believe in signs…. so I took a break from business and did some soul searching. I also went shopping for a new vine. This time I planted 2 Passion Vines.

Quilting is my passion. As the vines took hold, expanded and bloomed, so did my business. One of the things I learned during the hiatus is positive thoughts and energy attract the like. I do my best to set my intentions down a positive track…. daily. Gratitude is a big part of the picture. I will work that into my blog.

“Seams To An End” fits me. Now that the quilting fire has been reenergized, I have so much to do. Stay tuned.
