Merry Christmas!

Warmest wishes to all my online friends! If you would have told me one year ago I would be a happy blogger... well, I would not have believed you. :c) The ideas and support you all provide... I am truly blessed. Thank you, thank you!

Our Christmas has been filled with lots of fun. I finished up my last customer quilt on Thursday. DD #1 arrived via train Saturday afternoon so I've had time to visit and catch up with her. Saturday night I made some of her favorite foods.... steamed broccoli and BBQ potato packets (she didn't care what meat I fixed to go with them - LOL). Christmas eve I fixed another favorite.... Potato Soup. See a pattern? :c) Yes, we have Irish... and German roots too. We survived without a tree this year although the house did seem a bit sparse in the holiday deco dept. I did put out the lighted houses, stockings and my older Christmas quilt (seen in the header above along with, from l to r, Nacho, Jasper and Cosmo . . . settled in for a long winter's nap) Funny gift story: DD's 1 & 2 got each other the same thing, the DVD Robinhood, Men In Tights. Only the evenings remind us it is officially winter... today it was sunny and 70 degrees. Photos of snow covered streets are wonderful to look at but I'm afraid I'm a wimpy native southern Californian.

Today we went over to my MIL's place for Christmas dinner. I was able to finish up quilting her Briar Patch quilt this morning and take it to her. Here it is on the machine. I used the panto Popcorn.... doesn't show in this photo. It's an absolutely gorgeous quilt. I ran out of time today to snap a full quilt photo... I'll try to get one when she's done binding it.

I've also been a bit neglectful. My secret quilter from MQ Resource sent me the following wonderful array of batik's and I forgot to acknowledge the gift. My bad! I really have a soft spot for batiks! Thank you SQ if you read this!My stashbusting report is acceptable. I'm actually quite proud that I resisted a really tempting sale at a LQS. I only cut a small amount of fabric for step 3 of Bonnie's Carolina Crossroads mystery project, but a little is better than none at all! I'll have another post soon with mystery quilt progress. Till then...

....and to all a good night!

Oh, your banner is so cute, I just love it. You know a good photo when you see it. Hope you had a great Christmas and get some quilting time now that it's over.
