Catching up

I've been busy on many different projects but no finishes yet.

Playing with Jacks is progressing. 56 blocks done, 24 to go. A special thanks to Sandi for helping me with some additional blacks to make it work.

Easy Street is progressing too. Only 7 blocks remain to be assembled. Since the blocks are so big, the top should come together fast.

Currently on the long arm is a labor of love. I'm working on a medallion quilt assembled by a quilting friend and fellow band mom who passed away last year. I'm honored I was asked to finish it for the family. Custom quilting on this one. I'll post photos as I get more done.

I took a class at Road to California, Discontinuity taught by Emily Cier. Honestly I was worried about the project after I received the pattern but Emily gave us lots of tips and I really like the result. This is half the project, a crib size. All those horizontal lines are seams.... rows are 1.5" wide. Finish at 1". Yep, lots of seams. I think more modern quilts are in my future.

My current leader and enders are the hourglass units for Bonnie Hunter's pattern, Pfefferneuse. I received the neutral string blocks back from the exchange and will use them in this quilt. 105 hourglasses done and 183 to go. Then brown string blocks to combine with the neutrals.

I get all kinds of help in my sewing room. Often, mere seconds after I stand up to iron a seam, my chair gets hijacked. Here is Finn, being his goofy self.

One last cat photo. I've never had a cat as flexible as Colby. I often find him sitting like this. Cracks me up every time.

Hope to have more to share soon.

Oh my Colby! You are welcome for the black prints. Lots are making Pfefferneuse (or plan to) with their strings. Glad you are happy with them. Nice work on your RD2CA project. Sounds to me like there are some finishes in the not too distant future. Sandi
