I got no business

Not literally. My little longarm business is busy at the moment - yay - it's just 'I got no business' putzing on a couple of recently started projects. What's a couple more UFO's, right? Sheesh....

The first one I'll blame on my daughter.... she's working on her second ever quilt project using batiks. I love batiks. And I haven't worked on a project with batiks in like forever. So I caved and pulled out a couple bali pops, a background fabric and a pattern called Madeline. Here are some of the finished blocks. They'll be 14" finished. Loving it and getting a batik fix to boot.
The other project I had no business starting was totally non quilt related. My good friend and I have been talking about taking beading classes for years and we finally did last week. We started with wire work and I'm having a ton of fun with it. This was just a practice piece... not sure I'm done with it; I might add more to the pendant part. (sorry the light isn't great)

So, no, I've made no progress on Orca Bay, or Chunky Churndash or even the binding on a Chinese Lantern quilt (all that's left) to be gifted. I'll post photos of that when it's gone to it's new home. Mostly I've been working on the long arm (good thing) and working shifts at the ballpark.

Have to share a fun photo from the studio yesterday..... Miles, aka Spots, sound asleep on a pile of backing and batting trimmings, doing the face plant. LOL! how can he breathe?

Another opening day has arrived. In a couple hours I'll be heading to the ballpark to start my 8th season with the Padres. It's such a fun job! Go Padres..... lets Play Ball!

I've never seen a kitty do this...Miles what a silly guy you are. It's always fun to start something new. Wishing the Padres a winning season. Hope to see you tomorrow. Sandi
