Friday finishes

I've been neglectful of my blog again. Each time I sit down to write a post, I'm overwhelmed by all that has happened and blog worthy since the last post and don't know where to start. Today I decided to pick one thing and go with it. So here it is.

This past spring was very busy with working Padres games, wrapping up and packing up stuff from the school I worked at for the past 4 years (story for another day) and quilting a bunch of customer quilts. Things have eased off a bit the past 4 weeks and I have some personal progress to share.

I participated in a Chunky Churndash block swap with a group of gals from both coasts. Several will be entering their quilts in the upcoming San Diego Quilt Show in September and with the submission deadline next week, the pressure was on to get the top "photo ready". So.... here is my version.

Thanks for coordinating this swap Sandi

If you are a Bonnie Hunter fan, raise your hand! If you are, you will know what a leader and ender project is. Here is Sunny Lanes done with all leader and ender units. Funny aside.... I have 24 more blocks done and ready to assemble the twin-twin to this quilt.

And last because they are quick and fun is my version of a Carrie Nelson Schnibble pattern called Summer Day. When I saw the pattern I knew it was perfect for my 2 charm packs of Portugal (by April Cornell). It has a very rich, mediterranean feel and will go great on my dining table. Sorry the photo is a bit washed out.

Cheers till next time.... hopefully sooner!

Your Chunky Churndashes turned out great. I like the borders you added. Glad to hear you'll be putting your quilt in the SDQS. Your Sunny Lanes project is nice too as I'm sure the twin's twin will be! Sandi
